2012 Tasting notes:

2012 was an ideal vintage; and will go down in the history books as an iconic all-time great vintage. The year served up the Napa Valley with nothing but warm, sun-filled days and cool nights throughout the entire growing season. As a result, our Schlein Vineyard 2012 is uniquely memorable based on its depth, structure, and graceful elegance.

Our 2012 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of layers of black cherries, black currants, Bing cherry with just a hint of sweet mocha. Our wine is fruit forward accompanied by a memorable fragrant aroma. The finish is long and lingering blessed with soft elegant tannins.

We decided to age our 2012 vintage five years before release based on its inherent complexity. The vintage has been aged in a combination of new and aged French Oak barrels for two years and then bottled and stored for another three years in a temperature-controlled wine cellar. As a family, we are committed to creating a balanced Cabernet meant to compliment food and warm the soul without ever overwhelming the senses. Our 2012 crosses the chasm, presenting as the ideal wine to enjoy with artisanal cheeses as well as a complex hearty meal.  Or if you are a Schlein, or know the Schleins: “It is five O’clock somewhere in the world”.

We are all about family, friends and loving the people in our lives.  Share and enjoy our wine with your friends and remember to always laugh and smile as much as possible.
